    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Yss shock advice

I've not used one but YSS get good reviews in general from what I've seen. :)
 
YSS has a US office. There is at least one member here using that type of shock and they seemed satisfied.
 
Poke around for "Dogma"; IIRC he's using YSS shocks and habitually proceeds with alacrity.
 
I will buy a set this winter to replace both the originals and the Marzocchi.I saw at least 5 race bike with them at Mosport this summer.all reviews where good.

I purchased a set of YSS RZ 362 series for a 1981 GS650G last winter along with overhauling my forks with new sonic springs, bushings, seals, and oil.
I ordered them from Klaus at EPM Performance in NJ after providing him with specs for the bike and myself.

I was worried if I would see an marked improvement in ride and handling considering the expense.
I can say that I was satisfied. The bike felt perfect vs the stock Showas and old front springs.
I think they are somewhat nice looking too.

Unfortunately, about an hour into a shake down ride this spring, I experienced a violent encounter with a deer. So my opinion is limited to a very short test.
Luckily, I walked away. Maybe next spring I can do more.

glad that you walked away..... I think deer darting across my path is my #1 worry as I ride

Next spring? I see maybe 5 hrs worth of repairs once you got the parts you need to be back running again. Hope you scared the poop outta that deer.
 
Can I ask what you paid for them, Bit pricey here in UK ?500 + !!
 
I bought them in the UK, cheaper than everywhere. 475gpb + 35for the shipping or 625$usd shipped to my door. I've been quote between 760 and 825usd before shipping from North American distributors. Ohlins with the same features are the double.They were manufactured 02/24/2020.

Yes, next step is adustable triple clamps like an old Spondon set.
I ordered 335mm, a little longer than stock with +/- 5mm adjustement.I wanted to be able to use them on other GS if I need too.

YSS are on my radar. Was wondering how they are performing for you

They work really well, I like them better that the Ohlins of the same price range and they are completely adjustable.
I will not hesitate to buy YSS shocks again.

This is the part number.They were manufactured at the YSS factory 24/02/2020 and I received them the 04/03/2020 from the UK.Its not old shelf stock and very fast shipping.
