A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Here are the final pics of the project. 82 kat with 80 1100e tail, zx running gear and a LOAD of other stuff.
I also put on an RFID keyless ignition that I pieced together myself. You can see it in action on youtube under "keyless katana" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rw8WiYMe8-c

Hey Rob, Very clean Kat and nice video's there. Where do you install the interlock to disable the ignition? How hard is it to subvert?

i have remote start on my gs1000. its great seeing the look on peoples faces when it starts up by itself

I love that style of tail section on it, different yet could pass as stock to the unknowing. Can I ask what front fork assy/front wheel is that?

forks and running gear are zx1200rr, front fender is a ducati I believe.

the forks running gear was supplied by the owner and a dude named Richard in Ontario fabbed the zx swingarm up and triples.

Man...that really blends old school and slashes of today's designs... Great work....

That must be Allan's bike?

Yes it is. Delivery is Sunday. He doesn't want the keyless ignition so I removed it. "

Excellent work!

Now that you are done, I like the tail section.:D

What does the insignia on the tank mean?

Chris

Looks KILLER Rob, yet another awesome piece of motorcycle art. I wasnt keen on the 81 1100 tail, but now that i see it all together it doesnt stick out as bad as i though it would. Looks like it belongs. Nice!

Thanks Kid,

We talked about that when I delivered it. It actually looks longer in the pics than in person. The owner is quite happy with the whole package. So happy in fact he gave me his early 70s Honda 750 cafe racer to finish

Rob,

Love the tail, never would have thought of it, but it goes together well! In fact I like it better than a Kat tail. Great build quality. The RSU forks look appropriate as well.

If it were mine I would try to fill the side of the battery box void
Don't get me wrong, its definitely another a work of art (as usual).

thanks for you kind words M8.

do you mean something like what I am doing on my R1 kat build?

Hey Katman, I'm interested in adding rfid ignition on my gs1100lt. Can you give me some pointers on how you wired it in and where you got the rfid reader and other parts from? I'm rewiring my bike with a custom made harness that I'm making and would like to incorporate this while i'm at it or at least add provisions to easily integrate it at a later time. Thanks for any help you can give me.
