New guy from Cincy Ohio
Hello all. Im new here from Cincy Ohio. A few months back my 65 year old father who has not had a motorcycle in 30 years got some sort of wild hair and decided he wanted to find a 1977 gs750 like he bought brand new back in 77. I thought he was just talking crazy the first few times he brought it up and I just kinda ignored him. Truth is he really has no business being on a motorcycle but he wouldn't let it go. He is NOT very computer savvy so him saying he wanted to find one really meant that he wanted ME to find one for him.. So the search began and the first nice one I found was an original owner with 12k miles over 8 hours away from us in Madison, Wisconsin. It was priced pretty high compared to the others I had been finding but nothing else compared to the condition of this one. It was just too damn far to go pay a premium for it. I myself am a fan of late 90s early 2000s sport bikes simply because they are the era in which I bought my first motorcycle started to ride. Ive had a few dozen bikes over the years mostly CBRs and GSXRs and still have one of each right now. A spotless 98 900RR and an equally clean 02 GSXR 1000. I have been on the lookout in recent years for a clean 97 TL1000S in the rare green color to add to my collection and guess what popped up for sale on Craigslist in Madison Wisconsin.... Yep.. Just 45 mins away from the gs750 resided the cleanest green TL I had ever seen for sale. Its like it was fate. I worked a deal out on both bikes and pops and I made a 20 hour round trip to go snatch them up. Anyways thats my long introduction. I have never owned a bike older than 1995 so this looks like a great forum for me to learn and ask some questions about the old mans new toy.Tags: None

Welcome abroad. Nice story about finding the bikes and don't worry about the age, I think the average age here is must be somewhere around your dad's age.'84 GS750EF (Oct 2015 BOM) '79 GS1000N (June 2007 BOM) My Flickr site http://www.flickr.com/photos/soates50/

Welcome to GSR.
Do post pics.
I see that some of the southern Ohio guys have commented. And there are some more.
You have not had a bike older than 95.
Well, the 77 750 is gonna have carburetors....
..... and if still stock; breaker points... and sealed bean headlight (not halogen).
Tell Pops that if he had got an 80 or after then would have solid state ignition and halogen headlight and bigger charging system (but no kick starter).
