    New in Newport News

Hey, just purchased a 1981 GS110EX from New York, 49K miles.
So far I've noted a couple of issues with it, which are hardly unexpected fora bike nearly 40 years old.

    Pics will follow later.

Originally I was looking at this for a cafe racer project, but after getting the bike and going over it think I'm going to keep it pretty close to stock.

Minor (relatively speaking) non-cosmetic current issues:
Carb(s) are weeping, valve gasket is leaking, chain (probably sprocket as well) needs replacing.

Last owner kept it in pretty good shape, "almost" ready to ride. Except that fuel leak.

Not too expensive to address those, and bike is honestly almost in ready to ride shape, except that fuel leak. And these should be sorted pretty quickly.

So, just wanted to say hi and intro myself.

Welcome Jacob. We like pictures. Let's see it.
You've already put your bike in your signature, that's a great start. Lots of new forum members never catch on to that.

Looks to be fairly nice bike. Painted over nicely.

1100E was "THE" bike for years.

Tell us more of your adventures.

Well, diagnosis of the carbs and leak finished. Looks like the leak is a weep from the head gasket. Compression is fine across all cylinders. Going to do a few more miles before ripping the whole thing open. Carbs need a new nipple (the Tee) which is where that fuel leak was coming from and of course are not in stock anywhere and backorder date is anyone's guess, needed floats but otherwise good shape.

Chain and sprockets being replaced, which was a fully known item.

Otherwise doing the usual suspects, plugs, fluids, etc.

Not overjoyed with the expense, but not unhappy all things considered.

Fingers crossed I'll have it out in a few weeks.
