I need 2 carb slides as my old ones are almost torn through, part 13500-44110. My luck is they will fail in Wyoming..

There was a method posted on this board on how to repair them. Should work to get you home if they fail.

I'm in De moine,IA. Right now for fuel, heading out West to CA. The GS is running ok,a bit warm but I'm keeping an ear toward it and downshifting plenty. Thanks Rustybronco for welding the two places on my shifter.

Anymore popping noise from the trailer or did tightening the coupler take care of the issue?

Well sure, it's a Harbor freight I tightened the hitch a little more.

So the noise we heard wasn't from the coupler?

It's nice to know that there are still a few crazies around. Nothing like doing something like this to stir the nuts. Good on ya for trying this with your 450.
