    Simon P. Kuether

It is with deepest regret I must inform you of Simon's passing on 2-28-2024. He will be sorely missed by his wife Debra and the rest of his family.

Those of you who remember his several trips to this side of the pond and had the fortunacy of meeting him, remember those times with fondness.

Do you have a great road adventure that you would like to share? How about a bike repair gone bad? Put your story here and share it with the rest of us.

    Such sad news.
I just reread that Excellent Adventure thread and it's an excellent example of Simon's status as a "Forum Sage".

RIP Simon, I met him at the Indiana Rally a couple of times, he was quite a character.

Sad to hear about Simon's death. He did seem to live life to the fullest.

That Excellent Adventure thread is indeed a gem.

That is sad news. Such a cool old geezer. They stayed with Jim and Kathy Brown when they were in Ohio, only about 20 minutes from me. So, I got to hang out with them some not on bike trip occasions. I remember spending the 4th of July with them at the Browns', discussing how odd it is to not get full darkness until 10:00 PM. Their home in Cairns is within spitting distance of the Tropic of Capricorn, so they don't get much variation in length of day. We all got to say hi to their daughter Peta via Skype. Simon said several times that she was going to inherit his bike collection whether she wanted them or not. Someone mentioned that he needs a new leather jacket, and he said she'd have to inherit that too. After he crashed his GS1000G on the way to BC, he said he got distracted wondering if American cows moo with an accent.

On their first trip over here they were passing out Australian gift shop memorabilia. I still have that stuffed kanagroo. I don't keep a lot of stuff, but I want to remember.

Wow; I met him for his last trip here in 2014 and had hoped to see him again. I still have the koala bear though it's on my dresser now
