    Thanks....

I just need to wash it out, it's not rusted or anything, just want to get any crap out of it, like the flaky paint from the stripping, and the dust from the sanding. What I don't want to do is introduce and or help the inside to start to rust.

so vinegar, and after baking soda, and I will try to dry as best I can...

    Thanks

      Fuel Sending Unit

Well this is not good.....the fuel sending unit is damaged, it won't give me the amount of fuel in the tank, it gets caught up on the wires that are pulled and stretched so it gets stuck about the half way mark, and it seems the petcock is buggered up as well.....

      Not good....

Nope no spare, sold the spare bike, Spyug's spare bike did not come with a tank, so now it's time to look and find. If I could I would fix this one, but I don't think it's something I can do, I can still use it to plug the hole, it just won't give me an accurate reading of whats in the tank...

Petcocks are out of stock at this place http://www.siriusconinc.com/ hopefully they will get some in, great price, only 21 bucks, so that is a no brainer

          I have my eye's and ear's open.....

You do know about Nichrome wire? Possible to remove that strip and re-wind it?

              For example... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nichrome-res...item4acdf11476

I might be able to reuse the existing, it's not broken just messed up, if I can rewind it and rivit it or screw it back together it just might be OK, but not sure how my skills at doing that will be...LOL

I will check out his ad and send him a PM

a little pricy, I can get a petcock here for 21 dollars, and the sending unit is way out of my price range, it's easier to just check more often whats left in the tank...LOL,,,,,and cheaper

                      fuel sending repair

so I took it apart, and tried to rewind the bloody thing, man it's tough, and I did it but not sure if it's OK, do I need the wire closer together, or will this suffice...?

It's small and a pain, I can't see, using a magnifying glass, but still somewhat off....

any thoughts if my attempt will work, or start over and get the wire closer together ? I am left with some left over wire.....LOL

                        Painting_2

And to finish off the evening, I decided to paint the last few items, even did the underside of the gas tank....just for fun...

                        a few pics...

Have you had that slave cylinder apart for a cleaning and check of the seal. Remember the issue I had with mine losing pressure. I think perhaps you will want to change the seal to be sure its good.

Boy you love that paint. Maybe for the next bike you should just buy a 50 gal jug of it and dip the whole bike in it

Yes the slave has been checked and I made sure it all works, I even have the spare one ready to go if need be.

Well I did say the bike was going to be all black......LOL

I should have done the top half of the tank while I was at it......hehehehehe

50 gallons, way too expensive.....but that is a thought, I wonder how it would work out dipping an entire frame or any part into a vat of the stuff and then just letting it hang to dry, now that would be an excellent way of painting.....

Well just have to figure out the rims.....that is about all that is left...

I fixed the fuel sending unit...YAY

hopefully it will last a while, and I do have to see if it shows correctly, but full and empty it does show, so maybe I am lucky...

                                Build shots

Not much was done, actually nothing was done, so I just cleaned up around the bike, and decided to take a few glamor shots of how the build is going thus far...

                                Enjoy, just a few pics...
