carbs and no airbox driving me crazy
I am new to the gs bike I have worked on Harleys Yamaha, s and my first Suzuki was a 2006 sv 650 I lost alot with hard times but my buddy gave me a 1983 Suzuki gs650l great shape it ran 8 years ago and sat in the garage well over and over I tried this bike is a rat rod but I can not figure out how to run this bike with no airbox it won't even start please please please any ideas would be greatly appreciated it cranks but nothingLast edited by Guest; 06-13-2014, 10:33 AM. -

Easier option: get a used airbox.
However, it should still start without one so looks like other problems too.Richard

These bikes typically will NOT run without an airbox. As a temporary measure, fold shop rags a couple of times and zip-tying one over each carb inlet.
In addition to that though, if this bike has sat for any time at all, sounds like you need to go through valve adjustment and a complete carb teardown and rebuild. Just the way it is.
