GS250T: Where the heck is the mixture screw?

    Good day All!
Have a GS250T in the shed getting some TLC. I've got the carbs done... maybe. lol

Where the heck is the mixture screw? I've always found them on the bottom of the carb body on the engine side, sometimes under a thin cap that's easily removed with a drill bit. Are they under the alluminum circle on TOP of the carb outlet, with a ~.5mm hole in it?

    Thanks!

Cool. Yeah, I drilled parially through it before stoping because it seemed too thick to be the cover. Thanks for the pic!

Right... next question; What's a good starting point on the screw adjustment? They were 3 1/4 and 3 3/4 turns out, from the factory. Seems to want to be richer. Thanks to the experts!

Dunno much about a 250T, but have you done the whole carburetor dipping and replacing O rings procedure or are you just fiddlefvcking around with it?

3 3/4 turns out and needing more is probably too far, either your jets are partially clogged or they are the wrong size, of the floats are set wrong...

Either way, adjust the screws with the highest idle procedure.

I suppose "fiddlefvcking around with it" is a good description. ... hadn't heard that one before. lol

Cleaning the carbs for a coworker. It's his first bike, and just wants to use it to get his feet wet. Doesn't want to put a lot of money into it. No rebuild parts purchased, as of now. Just doing a thorough cleaning.

It won't idle, as of yet. That's why he brought it to me. Gotta stay on the gas all the time, or run the enricher partially. To me, that says "idle circuit," but that doesn't seem to be working.

Unfortunately, the whoe thing's haggered. Problem could be the result of many things...

So... high-idle procedure. From what I understand, put the screw maybe 1 1/4 turns out. Turn in until the idle stumbles, and out until the idle stumbles, then adjust to halfway between ?

                  No, that's not it.

Read the description on cliff's site.

It really it sounds like your pilot circuitry is clogged up, dip the carburetors.

Might be a tad late on this one, but they should be between 1 1/2 and 2. My 300 likes just a shade over 1 1/2.

Dipping and new orings and intake orings makes a HUGE difference. Not even worth messing with the screws til you dip IMO.

                      Hope it works out!
