    Replace cam chain guides?

My GS400 has a plastic cam chain guide on one side (12771-45052 GUIDE,CAM CHAIN_Front) and another more elaborate one on the opposite side (12810-45040 TENSIONER,CAM CHAIN). The chain seems to have worn a groove into the plastic. Are these general wear and tear parts that I should replace at rebuild time?

I have seen several cam chain guides, none of them were flat.

I have not seen a brand-new guide, but I think they are formed with grooves to support different parts of the chain.
