    Suggestions for clutch set up

I just completed a clutch rebuild on a 1978 GS1000E including clutch basket (new springs and backing plate), clutches, and springs.

Need your suggestions on setting the clutch cable tension.

It adjusts at the hand lever, where it is held to the case and at the arm.

Where do you position the arm? etc.

    Thanks,

    Dave

the arm should be in line with the clutch cover mating surface. adjust the cable so you have a few mm freeplay on the lever

Just remember, an opinion without 3.14 is just an onion!

My bottom arm is just slightly "out" from 90 degrees to the case

Be sure and turn the rack clockwise before you install the arm
