      The hose to/from to the cover over the fuel gauge sending unit is only a drain in case of a gasket failure and should be routed down past the battery and onto the ground and should be open at the end. The vacuum to fuel petcock should from the #2 carb and go to the small nipple on the fuel tap.

        Yeah that was the vacuum hose i was referring to. it was on the #2 Carb and went to the port on the petcock.. hooked that up and it made a difference.
