    Cam Chain

I purchased an EK cam chain from an aftermarket parts supplier and upon close inspection realized it was a split roller chain. Altough I didn't put it in the motor and I won't, I thought I would warn others. Split rollers are formed from flat metal and then rolled into a tube. the seam is not welded and is always visible. A solid roller chain has it's rollers made from a solid seamless piece of metal and is the only type of chain that should be used for high speed applications. Split roller chain is considered "machinery" chain, great for driving a manure spreader or such.
