As Cuck said, silicone spray or an ignition wire dryer (spray as well) on the wires will buy you a bit of time.

Just don't bring it by my house. Silicone is bad juju...

Glad you found the problem. Same thing worked for me, along with new NGK plug caps. Your story reminds me to hit my wires with silicone again. Can't be too careful and prevention is cheap.

As insurance, inspect your point cover gasket, and hit it with some black permatex to make sure it is waterproof. That paper gasket is very dry looking in its original form.
