Glad you found the problem. Same thing worked for me, along with new NGK plug caps. Your story reminds me to hit my wires with silicone again. Can't be too careful and prevention is cheap.
As insurance, inspect your point cover gasket, and hit it with some black permatex to make sure it is waterproof. That paper gasket is very dry looking in its original form.

WD-40 also works well for drying wires, after all, it's Water Displacement, 40th forumula. (<-- click the link)
