    Can anyone tell me the length of travel on the cam chain tensioner as the one fitted to my project does not seem to travel very far...Jim

    Not sure what you mean by length of travel, the cam chain tensioner is automatic, so you shouldn't have to fuss with it......here's a rebuild tutorial, maybe it will answer your question.

      My tensioner is for a 1978 GS1000E and appears slightly different in shape but seems to be of the same design therefore will these instructions work for this model.......Jim

          From gasket surface to tip of plunger.

          Plunger extended 65mm
