    engine tapping on decell

    Hi there all GS lovers

I picked up a 1978 GS750 a few years back and love the bike. over this past winter I had pulled the engine off my bike to fix a leaking jug gasket And to have the frame repainted. In the prosess I put new valve seals, and all new gaskets.

I just recently got the bike all put back together and noticed a tapping or rattle on the deceleration in gear. The tapping is random. always dose it but the tapping is never consistent. Hear or there.

The bike runs great. Revs up fine still just as peppy, but the tapping freaks me out. And I don't want things to go south.

I would check the exhaust pipes going into the head. Mine was loose one time, it took me some time to track it down. I thought the camshaft was going... The rattle did keep me from getting in trouble, and possibly getting kicked out of a campground but that is another story.
