    Engine swap

Hi I'm looking for some advice I have a 1979 gs750g shaft drive and I have a chance of an 1983 gs1000 shaft drive engine would this be a straight forward swap

    Many thanks

Since the 750 is rarer why not keep that engine?

Why not sell the rare bike and buy a bigger one?

          Actually I didn't know they made a 750G. Are you sure it's not a 79 850G? Maybe a non US thing.

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.;)

The 750G was a Japan home market thing. Same as an 850 just missing a few cc and to do with licence restrictions I believe.

In that case the 1000G, or even an 1100G, engine will swap right in. You will need to pick up a 1000G/1100G drive shaft since the flange is different between the early 850G and the later 82 on 850G.
