Urethane Clearcoat? No gas spills?
Where do I get a good quality urethane clearcoat? The Dupli-color is acrylic if I remember correctly. That's what they sell at Wal-mart and Advance Auto Parts.

Urethane is usually a two part paint, with a catalyst that will kick it over and be durable. It is in this hard finish that enables it to withstand gas.
I don't think it comes in a spray can...you have to spray it with a gun.
Good luck, and if you use the rattle cans, just be very careful when filling up, grab a paper towel or two to catch spills quickly.

That's what I was worried about. I'll just put on another really thick coat of the acrylic and be extra careful.
That being said, it still looks amazing. Nice and smooth and exactly what I wanted it to look like. I like the dull/rough look I've got. Is it possible to keep this and still wax it up or will that ruin the look, meaning will it get all cloudy?

Wax will make it a little more shinier...may work out nice as it fades out. I would use a caranuba wax (I'm partial to Turtle Wax 'hard shell' in the green tub)...it will also afford you a little more protection from gas.
It takes a few days to a week for spray paint to "gas out", so don't apply wax to it too soon, and if you can set the parts out in the sunshine, it will help to help bake the paint on from the inside out. The sun works wonders for curing spray paint.
Post some pics when you get it done!

I'm gonna be posting lots of pics, hopefully to erase the memories of what it looked like when I bought it lo' those many months ago.
I always go with collinite wax though. Marque de' Elegance. Best stuff made.
Although a good friend of mine owns the company, so that may have something to do with it.
That being said, if you don't mind some rubbing, I've never found a wax that outperforms it. The stuff is amazing. Lasts forever.
