    Thanks!

And I hear you on the fake gold thing, drhermanstein. I personally like the cheezy gold paint look. I think it'd look period-correct on a GS.
Your bike looks great with the black (which is what I opted for on mine as well).

      Gold vs. Black

I had a 93 Katana 750 with the gold wheels ( from the factory) and it looked good. Blue paint/gold wheels.(the way a subaru WRX looks). But that bike had less silver/metal parts on it. It's easier to make the black wheels look good aganst the silver and machined parts/forks/engine/chrome fender. It just may take more ingenuity to make the gold wheels work. I need more black in some places like a smokey and the bandit trans-am and it'll work. Lots of black and gold wheels.

Are the thtottle cables stock? I am adding a set of drag bars to my 550E and it would really help me out if you could post pics of the routing. Nice looking bike by the way.

          yes

The cables, clutch and throttle are still stock. It still works. just route them as loosely as possible. Remove them from any ties or fasteners so they don't bind. Probably doesnt look the best but they worlk fine.

I'll post another pic later. I had removed the tank and headlight/bucket, and routed them foward and through the fork without binding them. just don't make a sharp bend. An arcing bend will do. If the throttle or clutch feel tight perhaps a bend was too sharp somewhere.

              Mac Exhaust

              BadBrown,

Did you get your exhaust from bike parts outlet off of ebay - the one that list it for an 81-82.

If so does anyone know if this exhaust will fit a 79 550L model.

              Thanks,

              byrdman

I strongly agree about gloss black wheels on a GS

                  BadBrown,

I really like your subtle cafe modification. I especially like your seat modification. I went with a Ducatti style seat, but it's literally a pain in the ass.

Hey, let me know if you want to sell your stock exhaust.

                    yes

It is the one MAC exhaust from bike parts outlet on ebay. I took a chance on it fitting my '78550E, and it fit, when the listing said it was for an 81-82. It "should" fit the L also. I can almost guarantee it fits the engine/manifold. All I had to do was shave a little off my passenger peg arm, because the can was touching. They do have a return policy. Just be carefull with the packing and you could send it back I you needed.

BTW those are some sick bob jobs. The White and the Black. Excellent work. Looks like MADMAX 1 and 2. I dig MADMAX style. Yes I think gloss black is the way to go, for the wheels.

FUDQUEST: I attempted to draw my seat design form Ducati as well. You pulled it off nicely. That's what SUZUKI should have made in the first place. word.
