    a 1979-81 gs850-1000 tail piece, with a funny an- fitting in the right of it.

          whats on the other side of it in the trunk? part of a luggage strap devise maybe? i have seen drag bikes long ago with a spitter at the back wheel that spits bleach on the tire to burn out and get the tire stickybefore a run but i havent seen one of those in years~ be careful! it may be a port to the matrix and them it might turn into a ducati moster......

                I'm going way out there and saying part of an alarm. LED strobes and a small port for a siren in the center. But that's just my imagination making more of it than it is.

                        Whatever it is it has 5 LEDS in the centre with a small hole right in the middle.

                        I'd go for a supplemental brake light or an alarm.

                        It's definitely a 1000 tail piece.
