GS 1000 Stock colour VS custom colour

Last year I spray painted my bike purple. This year I plan on getting the bike painted professionally.
I was looking at the pieces I have laying around.
I came across a skunk gas tank and tail piece.
I think I like it in the black.
I am trying to figure out if I go black or stay purple.
Let me know what you think.

    Thanks,
    Marc

I will also be using the GS750 side covers this year.
I don't like the round shape of the stock GS1000 covers.

    Thanks!

I think you should sell me the tank you don't use.

I am big on stock colors for value and when I heard purple I thought ouch but in the pics I like the purple best. Sorry to drag this thread back to it's origin.

With the mods you have the purple looks better.

Stock it'd look better in black.

At the risk of hi-jacking your thread......

The 750 sidecovers fit the 1000 ? Any modifications required ?

BTW..With your mods the bike looks good in purple , although I'm usually partial to black.

I will have to modify the covers and move the mounting tabs on the bike.
The triangular shape of the covers suit better the lines of the bike.
I can take pictures of the mock-up if you want to see what it looks like.

If you could , pics would be great.
I tend to agree, the 750 sidecovers look better than 1000 covers. If it can be done without to many mods to the frame, I may consider it myself. Bigger fish to fry at the moment...

I have time to think about it, but the first idea is almost always the right one. Even painted with rattle can, the purple looks good in the sun, with a professional paint i imagine it would look even better. The current color is Ford GN ultra-violet, 95-96.
My GF says the purple is faster.
