    Remove tank badge screw plates?

Can the badge screw plates on the sides of a gas tank be removed? I bought a 1000E tank for use on my 1000S and the S had decals on the tank, not badges.

Not quite sure, but as I remember the badge plates look like they're spot welded into some depressions on the side of the tank... I would think you could remove them, but then you'd have to fill in the depressions...

Yea, depression would have to be filled but I think it would be better to fill the void entirely compared to trying to fill around the plate.

I just did this on my 750. I used a dremel to slowly cut away where the spot welds are. On mine there were 3 spot welds. One on each end and one in the middle. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be.
