    1978 GS1000c midnight blue paint

Although the tank and tail paint on my 78 GS1000c is near perfect, the side covers appear to have been painted black with a Shop Vac. Does anyone know an auto (or Suzuki paint) that will match? ColorRite only goes back to 86.

What do you mean by painted with a shop vac? Are you referring to the fact the surface is textured, like if they had been sprayed on with a gun that was set up with too low of pressure?

    That's the way they came.

Will have orange peel and will not be glossy. I'm not saying that's what you want them to look like, just how they came from the factory.
I do suspect if they are heavily orange peeled and with a fair amount of dirt in the paint, somewhere along the line, someone re-painted them.

Mine looked pretty bad to.Did this thread to try to figure out what to do.http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...d.php?t=187775

In the end all it took was a bit of polish to make them look quite good.
