Colour matching the paint on an '80 GS550E?

Hey guys, I'm slowly doing bits and bobs to my GS550 and want to get rid of the awful paint job done by a previous owner. It doesn't have to be standard but I thought I'd get it close to the original red it came out in. I'll be using aerosols, so does anyone know of a car colour that might be close?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I would just go into O'Reilly's or Auto Zone or even an auto paint store and just start looking at the colors available to you. More often then not the caps are pretty close to the color inside. Maybe go to the auto paint store first because they will have the cans of 2K clear you need, otherwise the first drop of gas you spill on the tank will disintegrate the color in front of your very eyes. The 2k is catalyzed and will protect the finish. I would also (unless you're familiar with) stay away from candy colors of any kind and go with a solid red that you see and like. Good luck, and have fun with your project.

Cheers NVR, I'm thinking a colour I like is the way forward.
