1979 GS550 Carbs, whats with the 3rd jet?

    Hello,
My on;y experience in carbs was with my 1983 GS450. These 550 carbs have #80 main jet, #50 jet, and #15 slow jet. Im totally clueless about the 3rd jet. When I rejet i will have to replace that one as well? Thanks!

    Why are you rejetting?

Not sure what you mean by #50 jet.

The third one is the pilot jet, controls fuel just off idle, up to around 1/4 throttle.

For pipes and pods it's usually not required to change it out, just the main jet and needle position.

im doing k+n pods, and exhaust. Dynojet doesnt make a kit for this bike. I just have very little experience with different carbs and didnt expect a 3rd jet besides the main and pilot
