Do you measure the float height with the float bowl gasket in place? As I recall, I measured before the gasket was in place and adjusted accordingly.1983 GS 1100 Guided Laser

Hi,
This is just another reminder to check the valve clearances. If you've never done them on this bike then you really should. If you put it off for too long you could end up with this (from my little website):
"These valves came out of an engine with 26,000 miles. These valves are burned and the springs, valve buckets, and spring retainers are blue from the heat. Please adjust your valves or this will happen to your bike."

I had the same problem turns out the set screw on the choke rod fell out. So when the choke was on it was only choking the one carb.
