Haha that's what I was thinking. I enjoy how that one slice has the reflective backing, ive heard that is proven to give HP gains of about 25% and increase cooling and airflow. I will sell said futuristic filtration device to highest bidder

      EDIT: ordered 4 new boots.
Yeah, the boots just spin off the end of the wires once you push up that rubber cap on the end. Snip about 1/4"-3/8" off the wire before twisting on the new (NGK?) caps; (don't forget to put the new rubber caps on the wire first).

Also, I just bought an aftermarket Uni filter for my 650... looks to flow better than the OEM, but haven't riden the bike yet - she idles & gets to redline perfectly fine sitting on the centerstand though.

ok cool, thanks for the tips man. that boot on cylinder two just basically fell off with little resistance when I was inspecting it. I'm hoping replacing these will cure my problem and I can hold off on the carbtune for a little while longer.

I actually just put a uni filter on mine this morning too. it sounded good esp considering it was running on 3 cylinders Hah. I used k&n filter oil on it, hope that is the right kind to use? it recommends their brand naturally, but I had the k&n already
