    Stuck Choke cable

    hi,

just bought my little dream project bike a 79' GS850N.

When I got it back t the garage the choke, which comes out of the centre of the headstock, worked fine. I was able to pull it out on these cold mornings In the North East of England.

This morning however it wont play ball. Its as if the knob has been welded to the headstock, it wont budge.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you.

Try turning the knob a little bit to the left before pulling it out.
There is a locking mechanism that lets you lock it in place while using it.
It might be engaged and needs to be released.

It might be rusted in the housing too. Mine worked fine for awhile, then one day it didn't, I pilled real hard on it and broke the cable.
