      So what does Andrew need to do to get the bike squared away? Can those carbs be used on a zuke if they are indeed kaw carbs? I am asking just for the educational aspect here.

        It depends on which needles, slide cutouts, needle jet are installed and whether or not the orifices allow the proper amount of air needed for the idle circuit.

        carb ID numbers might narrow things down a bit.

          Well like i told hiom the other night, At least the VM26s we all know are readily available and not all that expensive..if he decides its bet to go that route.

            I will have to look for some kind of carb ID when I get home. I really hope these will work in the bike. But like you said chuck I guess I could buy the correct ones from someone on here, but I don't want to spend money on them if the ones I have will work.

              I totally understand..if I had a spare set laying around i would give ya the things. The bodies and rack never go bad unless you drop and break them. The only real maintenance is a cleaning now and then and freshening up the orings about every 20 odd years, so a set sitting around arent a bog loss or anything!!! just wish i had some to give you.

                    Yeah I know. Of course i said it jokingly, but i'm sure you knew that. I saw that someone had a set in the for sale section for $75. not sure what kind of shape they are in. But if anyone does have some they want to get rid of or sell let me know. But again i would like these that i have to work and maybe with all of the combined knowledge here we can figure it out.

                      Well all youd need to do is dip them and get them really clean in the bodies..we already know the stock jet sizes and where to set the pilot and air screws. You have already got the dipping and cleaningb part down, so once thats done put in the stock 100 Main jets, the 15 pilot jets, be sure the needle jet on the slide is a 5F21 and the clip is on the center groove. And we already had established that the pilot screw is at 7/8 out from bottom and the air screws are at 1 1/2 out from bottom. All the specs and settings have already been figured out via my same bike and problems.. clean ..assemble..set up like mine is..ride and fine tune!!!!

                            No problem... the world could use a bit of humor from time to time.

                            The only smooth sided KZ carbs that I have found so far are for a 900. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Kawsa...Q5fAccessories
                            did (does) yours have one or two fuel lines? if what I found is correct, the later 900's had only one fuel inlet.

                              Those are really close to mine. Mine has one fuel inlet. It also has metal(aluminum) T's in between the carbs. Those are black, but can't tell if they are rubber or not.
