I just noticed you are in Orlando. Be more than happy to help you if you want to bring it by sometime. I also have some extra carbs parts. I might not be too far from you.

I watched the video but I can't understand why it won't come out. Strange.

The only logical reason, is damage to the top of the bore.

Odd it's so consistent on each carb.

I forced the slide assembly out of the one that was dipped. I doesn't want to go back in unless I flip it upside down. Then it slides in until the bottom (now the top)of the assembly reaches the top of the bore.
After measuring, it seems as though the bottom of the slide assembly isn't a perfect circle and is off by .09mm at it's base. Thinking about tracking down another assembly to see if that's the problem. Weird that all four would be bad.

I would really appreciate another set of eyes on this PortDave.... just let me know where and when.

I had a set of VM carbs where the slides wouldn't release even after extensive soaking. Put a hot air gun on the carb body and the slide fell out under it's own weight. The varnish between the body and slide doesn't get exposed to the dip but the heat melts that stuff straight away.

Using heat is a good idea...

Maybe someone once clamped the body's in a vice and slightly bend the bores out of round?

Shoot me a PM or an email. Bring them on over and we can compare to a few other sets I have here.

It turns out the bottom of the slide assemblies were all slightly dinged up. Thanks to Portdave they were removed with a combination of cleaner, heat gun and a little muscle. Touched them up with wet sandpaper...good as new. One and two are cleaned and reassembled with new o-rings. #3 is in the dip today.
Thanks again Portdave...sorry about the lovebugs.

Glad we got it figured out. The PO must have used something hard to pry those slides out. Always good to have spare parts to compare. Those lovebugs were so annoying. My garage was full of dead bugs the next day.

I have had so many people help me. It is always good to pass that help along to someone else.
