    gs 450 carb question

I am using this to rebuild my carbs.

Everything went well and I am in the process of rebuilding. My question concerns the Idle Needle Jet. When removing the were pretty hard to remove and required some effort to get out. When reinstalling it appears that they sit in the hole and do not need to be forced into the hole. I just want to make sure that I do not need to apply undo pressure to get the idle needle the hole.

Just trying to make sure I am not insane..

Yep, just an interference fit. Put new O ring on, push in hole until they're seated properly, and done. Doing this without the gasket in place would be better...

That ridge above the O ring there should sit flush on the surface.

Cool thanks.. I think I am good then.. I notice that if I push the floats up they sometimes stick now. Perhaps I need to align the idle needle jet better. How much will the floats move during normal operation. I am speaking of the floats as the part that inserts into the needle jet. If I move them upwards to the top of the opening it apears they stick a bit as the idel needle jet is not perfectly aligned. If the floats never move this much then all is ok, If I need full range then I will need to play with it to get adjusted correctly. Since the idle needle jet sits in the float I had to install floats and everything and then seat float bowel so that the idle needle jet would stay in place. I think that explains it well but I can post pics if needed for further clarification.

Hmmmm ok I'm a little confused...

Basically the floats will only move up enough to stop the fuel flow coming in via the needle valve... at least I think my terminology there is correct.
