Ok fellas,
I got home from work and couldnt stop thinking about the fuel leak, so I got creative. This is the Last 2/3 of the process on video. I managed to forget to record the first part... whoops. Basically, I swapped some o rings and some gaskets around in the hopes that my problem would be solved. Sorry for the audio quality, my GoPro isn't the best camcorder for this kind of task.
Rebuilding a GS450L Petcock using parts cannibalized from a rebuild kit and another used one. So far it's not leaking, so I think I may have a winner.
cheers

when i get the time i am going to tear into the carbs. that is on my list of to-dos considering those are the only pieces inside the carbs i DIDNT replace when i rebuilt them in october.
I'm assuming that Z1 carries needles, needle seats, and seals for the 450. I'm replacing my front brake line with SS at some point, so when i get around to making that order, i'm buying carb parts as well.
thanks fellas

One question "Does fuel flow when you suck on the vacuum line in the On and Reserve position then shut off when you stop?"sigpic

i took the bike out last night after the rebuild for a test run and it did run fine with the ON and RES settings. i'm running on the assumption that i'm in the clear. i'll recheck tomorrow to see if there's any issues but as far as i can tell, it's working.

Unfortunately, i saw the same thing with my first attempt at rebuilding these carbs, so i will remain skeptical until i see a few weeks of consistently good function out of this one.
