mikuni carb butterflies removal??
Im in the process of dipping my carbs. Following cliffs carb rebuild. Only problem it doesn't metion removing butterflies. Ive seen youtube videos where they mention to remove them.
So my question is will berryman dip affect the buterflies?Tags: None

No worry. Dip away. The shaft seals will survive fine, however it's best to not let the carbs linger in the sauce longer than necessary.Ed

"No longer than necessary" can mean different things to different people, though.
The directions on the can say to dip parts for "15 to 30 minutes", but we have found that for a set of old, neglected carbs "15 to 30 HOURS" is more like it.
I have (accidentally) left carbs in the dip for two days without any damage, so the typical one-day dip is no problem.

Thanks for the advice! Second question. Ive grained one butterfly out. Thinking the dip would have affect on it. Do you think the screws will still hold the butterfly affectively?!
