    GS850L EMGO muffler

    Hi everyone,

So I drove the bike to work today and on the way home my stock exhaust muffler blew a hole in the bottom. My right side muffler had a little rust underneath and now there is a hole about the size of a penny.

I planned on getting a new exhaust anyway.

Is it worth a try to use one of the EMGO universal exhaust mufflers? (I am tight on money right now and dont have the cash for a full exhaust)

Has anyone used and EMGO or another similar brand universal exhaust? If so is there things i need to look for to fit my bike?

    Thanks again.

p.s. I have the stock mufflers and header.

I don't have any information for the emglo mufflers, but you may want to search for a thread on here somewhere for a nice looking aftermarket muffler that several members were getting a while back. I looked briefly but didn't come across it. Another choice would be Harley take off mufflers, I understand you can get them for very cheap or even free.

Had the EMGO long, Dunstall-type "mufflers" on my son's 450 many years ago. Quieter than open pipes, sounded worse than "L" pipes.

Harley take-offs seem to work well, especially ones from Sportsters.
