Starting the carb rebuild on my 1980 GS1000G. Problem is I have been unsuccessful in ID'ing the carbs. The diffeernces I can see comparing parts schematics on line and what I am holding is that mine has the choke knob mounted on the carbs instead of the triple tree. The choke rod has "E" clips holding the choke rod in place instead of set screws. I have checked years prior and years later than 1980 and have been unable to pinpoint which carbs I have. Other than the above mentioned items they appear to be correct for the GS1000G.Tags: None

Pictures would help a lot in this case. My guess is that they're not stock and would suggest a complete inventory of jets to verify they're the correct size when doing the rebuild.http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg

Finally have some carb info on my GS1000G. rustybronco you are correct about the carb rack being incorrect. The carb rack has been notched and another tab welded on to mount the idle speed adjustor. Here is a list of the jets JTGS850GL. They may be irrelevant as pods and V and H's exhaust have been added by PO.
MJ 115, PJ short 40, Jet Needle 4BC6, throttle plate 130, 34mm carbs. There were no rubber plugs in the PJ tower, no washer on gas screw, the o-ring is located near the screw head and has no removable air jet. The only numbers on the carb body are "V130 495".
I did ruin a screw for the throttle plate. Succeeded in drilling and E Z out. Now in search of screw which should be readily available. Lost spring on the choke rod. It sprang away. So this choke rod has a concave washer and e clip to locate the choke rod correctly instead of the set screw. I would appreciate any tips on installing the spring and ball bearing. It appears the the ball bearing and spring are way to much to force into the available hole, thus the spring that sprung. Can not find a schematic that shows the ball and spring. Perhaps proper ID of carbs would help this situation.
Will post pics of before and after cleaning and the e clip and concave washer. Might have been flat washer in 1980?

Those carbs look remarkably similar to GS carbs, but this picture shows vacuum nipples on carbs 2, 3 and 4. GS carbs only have one on #2.

Thanks for the tip on not being GS. I have been researching since your post. Carbs are off of a Kaw 1100 Spectre. Parts diagram confirmed where I thought the bearing and spring goes.

Yes I was going to say Kawasaki carbs, I have a rack of them also. Mine are 33mm though1984 GS1100GK newest addition to the heard
