High idle cause "lean popping"?

Exhaust header, exhaust pipe, etc. While they seldom go bad, it is a remote possibility. If you are making an on-line purchase any way, it would not hurt to add them to the order.

Eventually I'll replace my V&H with an identical, but brand new one. One of the few jobs I can handle myself. At that time I'll replace those gaskets.
I was told they are four separate, copper gaskets. True?1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red
2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

High or hanging idle is usually on the intake side. Lean.
