Discolored Floats
I've been in the process of rebuilding and cleaning my carbs and have noticed that two of my floats are strangely discolored. Maybe it's nothing but I just wanted to ask if anyone knows why. All four of the floats are low ranging from 19.8 - 20.5 mm

Carb spray ( not dip ) on some 000 grade steel wool will clean them and the brass parts rather nicely. Dont expect perfection but get the crud off good enough.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

pine-sol
I soaked my floats in pine-sol and warm water. Worked great.https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9zH8w8Civs8ejBJWjdvYi1LNTg&resourcekey=0-hlJp0Yc4K_VN9g7Jyy4KQg&authuser=fussbucket_1%40msn.com&usp=drive_fs

I would rather trust my bike to a technician that reads the service manual than some backyardigan that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix things.
