I've been in the process of rebuilding and cleaning my carbs and have noticed that two of my floats are strangely discolored. Maybe it's nothing but I just wanted to ask if anyone knows why. All four of the floats are low ranging from 19.8 - 20.5 mm

More than likely it's a result of fuel being left in bowl a long time without being replenished. (dried up fuel deposits) -
Just cleaned mine and yeah they were worse !! Just clean em up
Now there all clean and black .. new looking !! No dip available to me here in ontario , substituted using pinesol and soaking carbs for like 30 hrs almost..Comment

Carb spray ( not dip ) on some 000 grade steel wool will clean them and the brass parts rather nicely. Dont expect perfection but get the crud off good enough.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

They are a bit of a greenish/brown, right? That is some brass corrosion settling onto the floats coupled with gasoline varnish.
Have a careful look at all the brass parts for pitting, etc.'83 GS650G

Try this stuff on your brass parts, you will never try anything else after you see this stuff work. Just rinse with isopropyl alcohol after.
