Fuel should be at 1 to 1.25, so you're waaay off there

Air- start at 2 1/2 and adjust from there

79 1000 should have VM carbs. Big Ts 1 to 1.25 out on the pilots screws ( bottom ones ) is way way too rich. set the bottom ones out at 7/8 from gently seated. Side mixture screws ( air screws to some ) are set at 2 out to start you dont adjust the bottom ones..you do all the fine tuning from the side mixture screws.

And i take it you meant #15 pilot jets..dont worry i have fat fingers too when typing!! HA HA. 125 mains seem a tad big from what i have read here on the forum. Once you get the thing to have a proper fuel to air mix, and its still eradic, you may need to go down to a size just above stock..which I believe was a #95 main.

I also would suggest you do a good gauge syncing if you havent already. Have you adjusted the valves yet??? It all works in concert, so you may still need to get the other issues sorted as well as getting the screws readjusted. Whats the air filtration situation..stock box and filter...pods???

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
