The Z1 Carb boots have a "spigot" that you can connect tubing to directly (they fit the GS1000 with minor mods to slot the fixing holes). If you haven't replaced the carb boot O rings then you probably should - they are cheap. If you have carb boot leaks I have two sets here that are not pretty but are serviceable...

You need some adapters with the stock suzuki carb boots, if you have a drill press you could drill through some bolts or maybe you can turn a thread onto some small plastic pipe. You need a very small diameter to act as a damper anyway so as long as you can get consistent size holes through & screw it into the port on the boot (with an O ring to get a seal) it should work.
