Allright, so I haven't been on the road once yet this season and it's driving me crazy!!

Here's the issue.... In my rush I leaned over the bike and threw on the charger leads and didn't realize that I reversed the leads. Now it won't start of course.

I checked the fuses and replaced all of them. All I get is a chattering starter relay. When I tested the relay off the bike it would click once with 12volt source and be OL without 12v and have perfect continuity with 12v.

That makes me feel as though it's not the relay that's the issue. I hate chasing electrical issues... I really hope someone can give me a clue as to what to check? I have limited time to work on it being a busy guy and was just hoping someone has had this experience before and/or knows where to check?

I think you need a new battery- hopefully you didn't fry the ignitor or R/R with the reverse polarity. The chattering relay means voltage drop- i.e. dead battery. You could remove the battery and carefully use jumper cables from NON running car and see what happens- but it does start, don't run for more than a few seconds as you do not want jumper cables to become disconnected if it's running.

I have just now gotten around to ordering a sealed AGM battery. I've heard and read great things about it so hopefully I won't do anything dumb to it! lol

I'm hoping I didn't do any other damage to the electrical system... I have been wanting to do a tear down though.
        Thanks for the replies guys.
