    Gear Lights

5th comes and goes. Is the only connections to check inside the light box?

I would check there first but it could also be a connection at the actual gear shift sender, which is wired in to the bike by the gear shift shaft.

Did Suzuki have any bikes in the early 80's with a 6 speed tranny??.I just noticed in the sunlight the other day that there was a 6 on the gear light set.

        Hi,

The 450s and 550s had 6 speeds. Suzuki used the same gauges for a lot of the GS models.

        Thank you for your indulgence,

Yep, a lot of the GS'es actually have 6 speeds on the Gauge.
Even though there is actually 5 speeds to the trans.

You can take a flashlight and shine it to the Right of the "5" and you'll see "6".
