    interesting (boring) electrical glitch.

    hi all,

so, fired up the bike last night for the first time this spring, she roared to life as usual. Gave her a bath this afternoon, went to start her, and.....nothing. Lights, indicators, but no life. Suck. so, being the problem solver i am, pulled the side covers and shorted the starter solenoid....nothing for a second, then vroom, she's back. shut her down, tried the start button again, and she fired normally. did it a few times, and all seems well.

there looks like there is a bit of corrosion around the solenoid terminals, you think that is the culprit, maybe? i was thinking some water in the start button or ignition switch, but now i'm leaning toward the solenoid. any input would be appreciated! thanks!

Doesn't hurt to clean em. Could be any number of culprits water may have gotten to that it shouldn't.

Those starter solenoids can get big-time rust.
I pulled mine apart, and the spring and bolts were like pirate rust.
