Made it back to my buddy's place in Chicago and when I parked it I went to turn it back on to change spots and it's dead. Nothing when I turn the key.

Also..if youn had the tank off, check all the connectors under there that it could have snagged putting the tank back on.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

This is seriously shaking my confidence in riding it the rest of the way.
Seriously considering just leaving it here with a friend and selling it.

Its just a loose connection somewhere...check all the ground loops on the frame too and maybe take some steel wool and polish them and the frame where they mount. Dab of grease to keep them from oxidizing again. Turn on the key and start wiggling..when the lights come back on youve probably found it.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

Dammit...we never really had time last night to check out all the wiring...
I agree with George and Chuck...check the wires. Especially everything under the tank we messed with. And the fuses...if you have a short, it could have blown a fuse.
You have a meter, correct?Bob T. ~~ Play the GSR weekly photo game: Pic of Week Game

They are virtually the same size, give or take a few thousanths of an inch, with the 15/16" socket/wrench being FAR EASIER to find everywhere.
