    New battery and dodgy electrics

I have replaced my lead acid battery in my '81 GS1000G with a Deka AGM unit.

I think I have found some missing horse power and the old girl seems to rev much more easily.

The previous performance was fine but seems to be much sharper as if there has been some fine tuning. The voltage of the battery at idle has increased from the previous 13.8volts to 14 volts.

I can only assume that the new battery is giving the electronic ignition more fire power and that it may be time to do some over due work on the wiring harness and connections.

    Has anyone had similar experince?

The ignition is absolutely original including coils and plug leads and caps.

    No coil relay.

Interested in any comments or suggestions.

14 volts at idle is marvelous- what do you measure at 4k rpm?
