    Turn signal flasher – left flashes, right stays on

    Turn signal flasher – left flashes, right stays on

    The left flashes just fine. The right flashes once then stays on. If I go over a bump or tap the relay (flasher) then it flashes once. I can then tap again for another flash.

    Don’t think it is the relay (flasher) since it’s the same relay for left and right. Took the relay apart, nothing obvious.

    Ideas?
    1981 GS750L - Owned since 1990 when graduated high school and since have been discovering all the things not disclosed by seller.
    1983 GS750E - bought in 2016 as a rough runner to use while rebuilding 81L and then to combine with ES to make one good one
    1983 GS750ES - bought in Toronto in 2015 on a lark as a non-runner, missing front cowling and exhaust - If you have a 1983 750ES front cowling let me know! Blue would be nice

    Are both bulbs good on the right side a bad bulb will cause that to happen

          Make sure the lights are properly grounded

            Sounds very much like a bad earth connection.
            If it is that, then it won't be the only one. Go through your wiring meticulously and check / clean your earths.

              This. What you are describing is exactly what mine did before finding that the turn signal was no longer grounded, including flipping the relay with my finger and getting 1 flash.
