Turn Signal Bulb Issue 78' GS550E

Hi, I attempted to search for this issue and saw a few postings that were close to the issue I am having but didn't answer it fully.

My left turn signals bulbs function perfectly both the front and rear work no problem. However, on the right side the front bulb is out, and the rear bulb lights up but doesn't blink.

I replaced the right front bulb with a new one, and it still doesn't light up, nothing changed with the right rear bulb. The bike itself was completely redone last year. All of the contacts in the lights look good. No corrosion at all in the lights.

I am trying to check the grounding, but I don't have a lot of tools to try to take things apart and follow the wires.

Any suggestions anyone can provide would be great. Thanks!

    Replace the FRONT bulb.

OK, I see you already did that, now you need to verify that you have power and ground connections to the front bulb.

You'll need little else to find the fault besides either a test light, or a volt meter, and a wiring diagram.

I replaced the right front bulb with a new one...

Thanks Rusty! I can turn wrenches all day long when I have the proper tools, reading those diagrams is like reading a foreign language. A lesson in patience will be a virtue today, and I have all day to figure this out. Thanks again!

We'll get you through the reading part.

Open the link. The diagram should be near the end of the manual. Simple system. Fuse> turnsignal switch> turn signals. You should be able to find the junction points where the wires are connected together. The front signals should be connected up in the headlight bucket.

Thanks again, you were right, it was in the headlight bucket. It was just barely hanging there. I am trying to put it back into its sleeve now. Should I replace the sleeve? It looks kinda hangy and the wire won't stick in there. Or an I just rip the sleeve off, and use electrical tape?

              Sorry for all the questions!

If the connector is not holding tight, squeeze the female part just a bit with your pliers, then put them together again.

Keep the sleeve, avoid electrical tape, if you can.

Crap, and I thought this was going to be hard.
