Advice on where to start looking to repair an inop tach

    Hey guys,

So my tachometer on the 85 450L isn't working. It hasn't worked since I got the bike and I was going to start looking into this week. The light works, the fuel gauge works, but the tach needle itself never moves. Figured you guys might have an idea of the most common causes for this and could help point me in the direction of where to start.

Remove cable from back of gauge, look at inner cable while you crank over engine; but pull off spark plug wires first,so engine won't start. Does cable turn?
