Damage assessment
How bad does this look? Can you tell me what parts I need to buy?

"Attachment" didn't work and the photo it pretty low res and harshly lit but at the minimum it looks like you'll need new pickups and to get those broken screws out. Left handed drill bits for the ones that are flush are your friends. You can use a pair of vise grips to get that bent screw out...
Is the bottom right bent or just the angle of the shot?----------------------------------------------------------------

This any better?

Of course the big question is are the forks or frame bent. That would be a real game changer. I'm going on the assumption they're not, if there are some low-ticket items I can pick up now to deliver to my mechanic along with the bike in a month or so.1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

Take it to your mechanic for an assessment. It's going to need (at minimum): signal generator plate assembly, rotor w/screw, and cover. And maybe an advance unit.Ed

From what I can see it looks like you'll need items #4, 7 and 8 as a minimum. You may need item 5 as well but it depends on how much damage it received.
You also need the signal generator cover, gasket and the three screws that hold it on. What concerns me the most is the missing center bolt. Hopefully it's not broken inside the crank. If so you'll need to remove the whole assembly and see if you can left and drill it out.
My bet is that it's all sitting on someone's shelf and ready for you to get it shipped.Last edited by JTGS850GL; 01-31-2015, 08:30 PM.http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg

Can anyone even tell me what it's properly called (right side, round, says, "SUZUKI TSCC") so I can search for it? I keep coming up with clutch covers.1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

The signal generator assembly and the advance assembly - if they work, that's good enough, right? There's no need to spring for brand new parts, is there?
Same thing apply for the other parts behind the point cover?1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red
