    charging system testing

So I got my bike going and have the new battery charged and all was great but then the battery was dead again. I may have fried the charging system when I tried to jump start it a while back but cant remember how to trace back which component is dead. I tested at the battery and after revving over 6k I still just see a solid 12.6 v. Doesnt it go from stator to reg/rect to battery? Shouldnt the reg/rec just put off 12.6 to battery and dump the rest or am I thinking about this wrong? Where should I check for increase in voltage produced by stator and what should I expect to see?

    Thanks!

You need to find the "Stator Papers" on the GSR home page (not in the forum), or better yet, find Posplayr's updated version.

How to get a "What's New" feed without the Vortex, and without permanently quitting the Vortex

A "solid 12.6V" at 6K RPM isn't good. It should be around 14V

Your charging transgression would not have damaged the stator and more likely blew the r/r.
