Also got the forks rebuilt with the new Sonic springs. Hopefully the rubbing down with fine grit sandpaper has broken down the pitting on the tubes and the seals will live. Still it would not surprise me if that problem resurfaces. (resurfaces, get it? I kill myself sometimes.) Anyway I think it maybe will be up for a good ride sometime soon.

Running!
Got the Ratzuki back yesterday and it runs most excellently. Had to replace the stator ( all poles blackened) and put in the SH775 as well. It now runs the indicator lights properly and seems to be charging the battery. I don't have a voltmeter and wouldn't know how to use it if I had it. All I know is it doesn't have to have a battery charge every 100 miles as it did before. Obviously it must have been running solely on the battery. Well, that's over and done with at last. Thanks to everyone here for the advice to get the proper r/r installed.
